This sweet lil girl 'Ruby' was restored in '98, sold by that owner to a friend Sue in '99.
Both are in MN though the car has been stored in winter and has minimal rust.
This per an appraisal that was done in '02 with milage showing 21,756 stating a value of $4,400 compared to a new price of $2,499 when new.
In '99 the owner asked $7,500.
I bought it in '08 for $3,500 needing an engine.
I got super lucky and found a guy who has worked on Bugs since Vietnam when he got his first one.
As a mechanic for a major commercial airline he certainly has his chops; but is quite frankly fondest of and encyclopedic on Bugs.
There is LOTS of power on the 1500 cc engine and this car is so balanced at high speeds! Our interstates are 70 mph and she has lots of fun passing much newer vehicles.
Ruby has been much loved by me (and others by the looks of things); garaged in the winter when she wants to 'chill'.
Her favorite seasons are the other three cause like most 'older' gals she's got her body to consider.
