We anticipate the need for one or more Apprentice Lineman (Step 3 or above)/Journeyman Lineman(s) to be located in the Metro East Region (Rice Street, Newport, White Bear Lake, Wyoming). Apprentices third step or higher will be considered. The starting rate of base pay for a Journeyman Lineman will be $49.10 as listed in the Exhibit A wage scale. An Apprentice will be coming in at 70% of the Journeyman rate of pay at 3rd Step, 75% at 4th Step, 80% at 5th Step, 85% at 6th Step, 90% at 7th Step, or 95% at a 8th Step.
Summary
Position will work as part of a department that is responsible for construction maintenance and emergency repairs of all overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems. Employee must be willing to meet the Company's residency requirement. Relocation of the employee's household to the immediate area of the work location is required and will be the responsibility of the employee.
Required
Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED and meet all of the following criteria:
- Completion of an accredited Lineman program or Xcel Energy equivalent.
- Work experience operating construction equipment.
- Possess Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) including Tanker endorsement.
- Must exhibit a High commitment to Safety, and compliance with all Xcel Energy Safety rules.
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Expected to respond to afterhours call out, both weekends and evenings.
- Must work well with others and exhibit teamwork attitude
