About the role:

Digital Health Product Designers at Boston Scientific work on small, highly collaborative, cross-functional teams, driving design and user research practices and activities throughout the development of digital products created to improve the lives of clinical customers, patients, and internal users. Digital product teams utilize lean/agile and user-centered processes to drive innovation and iteration through frequent product releases.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Develop and articulate product design vision to the team, stakeholders, and external partners
  • Collaborate daily on a cross-functional team made up of product management, engineering, and product design to create high-quality digital solutions; Iterate product design and features, informed by data and user feedback
  • Engage with business stakeholders, contributing to a shared understanding of business, user, and product goals
  • Perform the full range of design-related activities for digital products, from discovery through finalized design (e.g., problem analysis, concept development, wireframing, information architecture, information design, data visualization, low- and high-fidelity prototype creation, user interface design, visual design, etc.)
  • Plan, lead, and conduct generative and evaluative user research activities
  • Plan, facilitate, and participate in a variety of design-related activities, such as design studios, design critiques, etc.
  • Work with colleagues in other design functions within company, enable communication and compliance with corporate design guidelines
  • Act as an advocate for the design function, encouraging adoption of user-centered design and design thinking methodologies with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and continuously advance your own, and your team s knowledge of current innovation and topics of interest in healthcare/Digital Health

What we re looking for:

Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree or higher in a relevant field and/or equivalent related practical experience.
  • 7
    years of professional experience and an online portfolio that showcases strong user-centered design and research practices
  • Experience working in an interdisciplinary setting, preferably in the medical device or healthcare sector
  • Successful track record of leading the design of digital products from discovery through iterative development and delivery, translating complex user needs, technical constraints, and business goals into thoughtful, effective digital experiences
  • Experience designing consumer and business applications, both from the ground up as well as improving upon existing products
  • Preference for, and experience in, working in dedicated, collaborative, cross-functional teams, defining product and user experience strategy and direction, in agile/lean environments
  • Experience in planning and conducting user research and competitive analysis, and in synthesizing and interpreting data and qualitative feedback
  • Experience planning and facilitating design activities/collaborative workshops, for a variety of participants
  • Ability to guide product decisions through user research insights and iterative feedback loops
  • Ability to proactively work to ensure high quality design and user satisfaction, along with alignment and consistency across products, portfolios, and brand.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in all phases of the design process from concept generation through final, detailed design.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand new fields, and to communicate effectively across different subject areas and to varied audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies and frameworks
  • Experience working in a regulated industry
  • Experience working in both startup and large corporate environments
  • Previous experience acting as an advocate for the design function, both within teams and with stakeholders
