Experience:
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-09) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as work that involves (1) Interpret and apply regulations, laws and procedures specific to issues related to the construction and valuation of residential property; (2) Make sound decisions based on appraisal and construction knowledge and analytical results; (3) Conducts desk reviews of compliance inspection reports on newly constructed properties to ensure accuracy and compliance with construction exhibits OR applicants may substitute education for the experience required to qualify at the GS-11 level:
A Ph.D. or an equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. OR applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at the GS-11 level. First determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then add the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at the GS-11 level. For example, an applicant who possess 6 months of specialized experience equivalent to a (GS-09) position as well as 1 1/2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
