3M is seeking an experienced Storage Solutions Architect for the Server Storage & Cloud Solutions Group located in Woodbury, MN.

Summary:
The person hired for the position of Storage Solutions Architect will be part of the Server Storage & Cloud Solutions team and will design, implement, and manage storage projects in the Global Data Centers as well as IT worldwide. Extensive knowledge of SAN/NAS architecture is essential. Primary responsibilities will be to drive storage strategies and recommend industry best practices for storage solutions, provide proactive storage forecasting, design and deploy effective storage solutions, research new and emerging technologies.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Lead and participate on storage projects related to 3M Enterprise Infrastructure Services
A strong understanding and a broad knowledge of storage technologies, including NetApp, EMC VMAX, HPE 3PAR, Isilon, and software-defined storage platforms.
Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills; acting as a liaison between Operations Support, Technical Services, and management.
Produces and maintains processes, procedures, and documentation.
Provide architectural guidance for projects that support business applications.
Maintain an understanding of the storage environment. Work closely with the operational counterparts to keep abreast of changes within the environment.
Analyze and understand trend data from various storage performance tools (i.e. storage performance tools here) for changes in storage performance and operating characteristics
Enforce policies and standards
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
Minimum of five (5) years of SAN and NAS storage experience
Preferred
Qualifications:
Broad SAN and NAS experience across multiple architectures
Understanding of the inner workings between storage SAN fabric and server infrastructure
A good understanding of Microsoft Windows Server or Linux.
Familiarity with system management tools such as PowerShell, BASH, Python, and REST
Good written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency in customer service skills
Location: Woodbury, MN
Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international travel
