Business System Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY
As a result of continued growth, Explore Information Services has an opening for an experienced Business System Analyst in either Eagan or Marshall, MN. Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for engaging with business managers and end users to determine business objectives and benefits, requirements planning, analysis and documentation, acceptance testing of new and existing systems, in addition to training end users.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Majority of time is spent writing and maintaining detailed documentation of user and system requirements.
Provide technical analysis of business requirements, problem solving and troubleshooting as part of a project team.
Act as a liaison between developers and end users to provide business critical or technical solutions that meet user needs and improve their business processes.
Participate in external client and vendor calls and on-site meetings. Involves moderate to difficult analyst tasks, Explore methodologies, tools and systems.
Execute project planning tasks including status reporting, updating and assigning tasks to developers and participating and/or facilitating team sessions.
Test, evaluate, and validate systems for business stakeholders.
Provide new and innovative approaches to business solutions.
Leverage domain expertise and analyst practice expertise to provide the most effective solutions to the business partners in the most efficient means possible.
Select appropriate analysis techniques and tools (process modeling, use cases, etc.) for each project.
Negotiate technical and non-technical solutions that both satisfy the business users and conform to the technical architecture.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive technical and business experience that included analytical thinking and processes with problem solving. Business analyst experience performing requirements definition, analysis, documentation and design and project management.
Polished presentation experience with excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Must be able to proficiently query data from a SQL server or other relational database.
Experience working within a defined development life cycle methodology including waterfall and Agile.
Ability to utilize resources to keep up with new technologies.
Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment while working on multiple projects simultaneously.

POSITION SUMMARY
