Pathways Mental Health Support Specialist Trainees (MHSST) Summer Cohort
People Incorporated has crafted a practicum-like enhanced program for individuals with a high school diploma/GED and/or some college to gain the knowledge and experience to become a Mental Health Support Specialist (MHSS).
Trainees in this program will learn about mental health services and shadow staff who work with clients in 24/7 residential programs. Before the program ending, trainees will have a chance to explore their career interests by connecting with our Talent staff
The goals of the program are:
Gain personal awareness to create self-care and resiliency
Learn about client centered care
Professional development
Gain insight about integrated community mental health
Learn about various types of professional roles in the mental health field
What does the program provide?
A nine-week, 120- hour training in mental health paying $20/hour.
Team-based learning environment: Pathways trainees are a part of a cohort of 6 and will interface with another cohort a few times during their nine-week summer program.
Individual and group supervision throughout the program
Hybrid learning will include both in-person and virtual training/supervisions and onsite shadowing at People Incorporated residential programs.
Schedule: Part-Time, 15hours a week. As part of the 24/7 float staff, trainees will be working a variety of shifts including days, evenings, overnights, weekdays, and weekends
Length of program: MHSS Cohort will start June 17th and run through August 14th, 2024. Program duration 9weeks
Location: Ability to travel to various residential programs within and outside of the Twin Cities Metro area, including Richfield, Blaine, Coon Rapids, Oakdale, Little Canada, Chaska, and Burnsville.
Hiring Range: $20 hourly

Main Job Duties:
Effectively interact and exhibit behavior that is consistent with customer service and professional standards established by the organizational, division, and program.
Using person-centered principles, actively engage with clients in their daily activities, and develop and maintain appropriate relationships that support the client in meeting their individual goals.
Responsible for the preparation, service, and clearing of client/program meals that are in accordance with program scheduling, and with sanitation, nutrition, and program.
Document interactions with clients into organizations electronic health record and if applicable, program specific documentation/record keeping system, while providing clear and concise communication with client, staff, and other applicable parties.
Provide daily housekeeping and general cleanliness of client home, program and work station in accordance with organization and program-directed requirements.
Responsible for ensuring that all daily tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Performing all other duties as assigned.

GED or High School Diploma
Must be 18 years old.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Services.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
