Fairview Health Services is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Therapy team at our St. Johns Hospital location in Maplewood, MN. We're offering a $9,000 sign-on bonus!
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services as prescribed by a physician. Follows defined treatment protocol according to department policies. Collects, assesses, interprets, and intervenes as appropriate in the care of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Ensures patient welfare and safety standards during treatments.
Schedule: This position will be working 0.60 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hour evening shifts and will also work a rotation every other weekend.

Shift differential incentives:
$4.00/hr for nights

Responsibilities/Job Description
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for:
Assessing patient needs and identifies expected outcomes.
Implementing Respiratory interventions based on plan of care.
Evaluating care and the patient's response to interventions and expected outcomes.
Delivering care as delegated by physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patient population, or individual patient.
Operating and maintaining all Respiratory Care equipment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Education
Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
License/Certification/Registration
Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Exceptions include:
New Graduates must complete their Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 6 months of hire.
Those with Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) must have 3 or more years of respiratory therapist experience in a clinical setting.
Respiratory Therapists working at M Health Fairview Facilities - supplemented by defined contract staffing agency - temporary.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Additional Requirements (must be obtained and maintained)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
Experience
At least 1 year of Respiratory Therapy experience in a clinical setting.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
