Duties Major Duties:
This is not an all-inclusive list A AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, WG, 8852, 12, 1) Directs, monitors or performs overall maintenance, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more aircraftWork is performed in complex working conditions under time and/or mission constraints to include all weather and night operationsWorks with, coordinates and oversees the work of subordinate aircraft mechanicsCoordinates and oversees the work of journey level workers in other trades working simultaneously on the assigned aircraftReviews, trains and prepares to perform battle damage assessment/repairParticipates in mission generation/regeneration operationsDirects multiple specialists in preparing aircraft for combat operationsExpedites aircraft operations to include concurrent servicing, hot pit refueling and/or combat turns or integrated combat turnsPerforms preflight, postflight, thru flight, periodic, isochronal, phase, hourly and special inspections, as well as servicing, defueling, scheduled and unscheduled maintenanceServes as the technical authority to advise on, inspect and approve all airframe, mechanical, electrical/environmental, avionics, engine and pneudraulic repairs on assigned aircraft(2) Ensures aircraft documentation and Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) accurately reflect the airworthiness of the AircraftProvides technical guidance and assistance to flight crews regarding observed discrepancies and experienced in-flight characteristics and system malfunctionsPerforms or assists in aircrew debriefing when required(3) Performs in-process and final inspection of aircraft and components undergoing repair, overhaul and/or modification to verify and certify by signature adherence to work techniques, procedures and quality standards established by applicable publicationsCompleted work is reviewed for adherence to maintenance policy independently to determine that the aircraft is prepared and safe for flightDue to the nature of operations tempo, must make decisions on a wide range of matters that may involve changes to past precedents to ensure completion of the missionClears Red X symbols on aircraft forms, accomplishes or directs engine power runs, may taxi aircraft in accordance with applicable directives(4) Plans, develops and conducts training during the technician work week to a multi facet workforce comprised of from 3 to 8 assigned military positionsTraining sessions are designed to provide instructions in techniques of repair and maintenance of aircraft and related equipmentConducts and certifies Cross Utilization Training (CUT) of non WG-88XX series Aircraft Mechanics to meet mission requirementsSelects the appropriate instructional method, utilizing either formalized classroom or practical on-the-job method of instructionEvaluates and certifies effectiveness of training by observation as the trainee performs the task(s)Determines experience and skill level of assigned personnelMaintains Career Field Education and Training Plan (CFETP) for assigned membersRequirements Conditions of Employment CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTo Minnesota Air National Guard Membership is requiredif you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a Air National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this positionApplicants who are not currently a member of the MN Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Air National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.o Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.o Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.o May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.o Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.o Must acquire 2A571 AFSC qualification on C-130 aircraft within 18 months of selectiono Must be a current T32 Technician with the 133rd AWo Open to 2A5XX / 2A6XX / 2A8XX AFSCo Demonstrate knowledge, skills and abilities maintaining C-130 aircraft and coordinating maintenance activities Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation Upon selection, individuals will undergo a background check to validate suitability for employment with the federal government as permitted by law, regulation, Presidential order or other authoritySuitability is dependent upon the particular requirements for security clearance, sensitivity level, and DOD IT network access Items checked include, but are not limited to all criminal history record information, employment history, education and fiscal accountability/responsibility.
