on Thursday, March 7, 2024 What You'll Do Program Service Assistants in the Parks department are responsible for welcoming all visitors and customers at the Lebanon Hills Visitor Center.
This position provides administrative and programmatic support to assist the Guest Services and Operations teams, as well as other Parks department staff.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with utilizing technology to complete work, frequent interruptions, and working with a wide variety of customers.
We are currently recruiting to fill 2 part-time (32 hours per week) positions.

Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED AND two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in customer and guest services, hospitality, or reservations industries OR Associate degree OR two years of specialized hospitality training OR An equivalent combination of education and experience to total 2 years.

Regular attendance according to the position's management approved work schedule is required for all positions.
Greet guests in a welcoming and timely manner.
Deliver high-level customer service that provides needed information or resolves concerns of park visitors or internal customers that are in-person, on the phone, and via email correspondence.
Use the Parks reservation software system for reservations, cancellations, program registrations, permitting, point of sale, and pass sales.
Process point-of-sale transactions and payments for merchandise, programs, and reservations.
Prepare and maintain daily deposit reconciliation.
Basic cash management and tracking of change funds.
Provide general administrative support for the Lebanon Hills Visitor Center:
Order and track supplies, deliveries, and merchandise inventory.
Maintain work area, public area, and equipment to keep them clean, orderly, and free from hazards.
Print and laminate materials for staff.
Track inventory, stock, and order print material to ensure public information materials are current and available.
Update and maintain spreadsheets, databases, or computer systems to ensure accurate and timely information.
Develop and/or proofread original correspondence, reports, lists, tables, and other department specific documents.
Notify internal staff and supervisor of problems or other matters related to customer service, safety, or park operations.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities and Work Environment Demonstrated knowledge of cultural awareness Knowledge of online reservation system (preferably Vermont Reservation System, RecTrac), point of sale and Microsoft Office software Excellent customer service skills with the public and internal County customers in a professional manner Excellent problem-solving skills Strong verbal and written communication skills capable of being customized to a diverse audience Ability to follow all processes and procedures of Guest Service program activities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at one time Ability to work with a team to perform at a high level of excellence Ability to represent the Dakota County Parks brand in a positive, professional, and inclusive manner Ability to maintain composure and use tact in stressful circumstances and demonstrate customer service-oriented behavior Work Environment Work is primarily sedentary, although there is some walking, travel, and carrying of lightweight items such as laptops, notebooks, and work papers.
The work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office.
May require occasional travel to other park locations or Dakota County buildings.
Location & Schedule This is in-person work at the Lebanon Hills Visitor Center in Eagan, MN.
Work is performed Monday through Sunday.
Hours will include weekends, holidays, and some evenings.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
