Job Description:
As an OS Architect you will be responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting & providing solutions to complex OS related issues for application software developed on RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) for medical device company.
Job Description Complete understanding of application software development on RHEL e.
g.
various versions including v6 till the latest Hands-on working for OS platform upgrade i.
e.
upgrade of application SW from one RHEL version to higher including other third party libraries Ability to debug & RCA OS upgrade related issues.
Implement/ RCA/ provide solutions for performance and quality modules due to OS upgrade Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
Help in troubleshooting OS performance.
Deep understanding to analyze OS logs.
Perform OS patching and keep system updated.
Perform upgrade of software and application when available.
Skills Required Minimum 10
years of experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 8.
x/7.
x architecture and tools.
Hands-on experience in at least one full cycle RHEL OS upgrade of complex application SW products Good understanding on Linux kernel and device drivers, particularly graphics drivers.
Good knowledge of Red Hat Package Management, RPM, yum repositories Deep understanding of RHEL8 internals including knowledge of optimization of OS platform Experience in scripting such as Linux shell scripting and Python.
Good knowledge of infrastructure tools such as build management tools such as Jenkins.
Configuration management tools such as Ansible, tracking tools such as JIRA.
Good knowledge of Red Hat Linux kickstart process and configuration Assessment for RHEL platform upgrade.
Build and Run environment setup for upgraded OS/ platform.
Upgrading product OS platform and OTS components.
Use tools such as JIRA for project tracking and configuration management tool perforce.
Education Bachelor's Degree ( 16 years):
In software engineering, computer engineering computer science, or a related engineering field.
Master's degree ( 18 years):
In a technical discipline preferred.
