Summary This role supports an enterprise-wide global security program.
This individual is the primary Global Security point of contact for facility leaders, safety representatives, and HR business partners.
As a physical security subject matter expert, this individual is responsible for implementing security programs, providing comprehensive security guidance, and supporting stakeholders at CHS facilities worldwide.
Responsibilities 50% - Physical Security Operations:
Represent Global Security as a subject matter expert and provide security guidance internally and externally when consulted.
Identify security gaps and recommend various solutions to prevent harm, minimize disruption, and promote resilience.
Conduct physical security assessments, on-site or virtually, evaluate security controls and document security plans and procedures for CHS facilities.
Recommend security controls that align with business strategies and industry best practices.
Maintain an understanding of regulatory standards that impact site security requirements.
Provide briefings or country-specific security guidance for traveling employees.
Leverage threat intelligence technology to proactively anticipate evolving security concerns.
Drive security awareness, deliver security education, and lead table-top scenario exercises.
30% - Incident Management and Security Response:
Manage the intake, triage, response, and escalation for security incidents impacting CHS.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve security concerns and propose solutions.
Support a workplace violence prevention program by developing threat assessments and recommending mitigation strategies.
Be available to travel worldwide to provide in-person security support when requested.
Coordinate with third-party security partners to arrange for temporary, short-term security support when enhanced security is required.
Develop an external network of industry peers and law enforcement professionals who may be consulted when responding to crises.
20% - Special Protection Services and Special Events:
Propose comprehensive security plans for special events or meetings involving senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
Maintain awareness of complex security challenges that uniquely impact public-facing leaders who represent CHS business operations.
Accompany executives and the Board of Directors during travel, domestically or abroad, when security support is required.
Minimum Qualifications (required) Bachelor's degreeProfessional certification related to physical security, protection, threat assessment, or investigations5 years experience managing risk, security, guard operations, or investigations in a corporate environment.
3 years experience responding to and resolving crises.
2 years experience conducting safety and/or security risk assessments.
Familiarity with industry best practices and knowledge of metrics defining performance and success.
Service-oriented and customer-driven approach to problem solving combined with excellent organizational skills and sound judgment.
Experience identifying risk, defining mitigation measures, and maintaining a protective mindset.
Desire to foster strong relationships and collaborative partnerships internally and externally.
Strategic thinker and planner with superior analytical, evaluative, and prioritization skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills to present content effectively at all levels.

History of demonstrating integrity, credibility, objectivity, and respect across all parts of a global organization.
Additional Qualifications Graduate degreeCertified Protection Professional (CPP) and/or other related professional security designation.
ATAP membership, certification, or completion of formal training.
WAVR-21 threat assessment training/certification.
Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification8 years experience managing risk, executive protection, or guard operations in a corporate environment.
5 years experience responding to and resolving crises.
3 years experience conducting safety and/or security risk assessments.
Experience managing regulatory challenges associated with CTPAT, CFATS, OSHA etc.
History of conducting post-incident reviews, documenting findings, and implementing corrective measures.
Understanding of different practices and standards across geographies and cultures.
Experience managing a Security Operations Center (SOC/GSOC), command center, fusion center, or similar function providing 24/7 monitoring and crisis supportKnowledge of relevant laws, policies, procedures, or governance related to energy infrastructure, shipping environments, chemical/fuel transport, and/or OTR ground transportation.
Knowledge of physical security principles and industry best practices.
Knowledge of threat assessment techniques and workplace violence prevention standards.
Skill in prioritizing security improvements based on vulnerability, criticality, and cost.
Skill in distilling large amounts of information down to a brief executive summary.
Skill in translating security strategies into commonly understood business cases.
Ability to make decisions when presented with incomplete information.
Ability to effectively influence stakeholders across the organization to implement security program strategies.
Ability to navigate a large, global, Fortune 500 organization.
