Job Summary This position has a flexible work arrangement that may allow for Telework or a mixture of working in our office and Telework.
This position exists to execute the responsibilities of the Commissioner of Human Services, pursuant to the provisions of the Human Services Licensing Act (HSLA), the Maltreatment of Minors Act (MOMA), and the Vulnerable Adults Act (VAA).
Individuals in this position protect the health, safety, and welfare of children and vulnerable adults through receiving maltreatment and licensing complaints via telephone or email and processing those complaints through internal electronic databases.
These complaints involve a wide range of licensed services.
These services are licensed by the Department of Human Services, or in some instances the Department of Corrections, and include:
child care centers; adult foster care; children's residential facilities; and residential and day treatment services for substance use, mental health, or developmental disabilities.
The individual in this position exercises independent judgement in the application of agency and unit protocols in order to provide a high level of customer services to both internal and external stakeholders, including other Government Agencies, while maintaining compliance with data practice requirements.
Additionally, the individual in this position recommends changes to unit protocols in accordance with established goals and objectives of the Licensing Division.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications 2 years professional experience receiving, processing, or analyzing reports.
Actively safeguard the data collected, maintained, and used.
Prioritize work in order of importance.
Answer phones and/or take reports by interviewing callers.
Preferred Qualifications Act with the highest degree of integrity, adhering to all compliance and ethics requirements.
Develop and maintain productive, effective, and professional working relationships with staff, partners, and clients.
Comply with all applicable statutes, rules, regulatory standards, and policies pertaining to this data, including but not limited to the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act (MGDPA), the Minnesota Health Records Act, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
