Job Summary This position provides leadership and expertise in the development, implementation, coordination, and management of MDVA's State grant program which are aimed at serving Minnesota Veterans and their families.
Responsibility includes establishing program goals and objectives, conducting program administration, training sessions for both internal and external grantees, monitoring compliance of grantees, and consolidating multiple grant program activities to ensure efficient and effective administration of grants.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Three (3) years professional experience demonstrating the following:
Grants and contract management.
Manage, evaluate, monitor, and audit grants to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
Demonstrate the ability to successfully motivate and direct the work of other professional staff.
AND Skill in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
Knowledge of general accepted accounting principles sufficient to analyze financial statements, audits, forecasts, budgets, and demographics.
Preferred Qualifications Experience recommending new or revised budget initiatives, policies, rules, standards, or procedures.
Proficiency in written and oral communication, including public speaking.
Demonstrated fiscal management expertise, including contract administration, developing, and monitoring budgets and fiscal reporting.
Commitment to diversity as well as a demonstrated ability to work successfully with persons of diverse backgrounds.
Experience with creating and providing training to grant recipients.
