Job Summary This position will work part-time (20 hours per week).
This temporary student worker position is anticipated to start approximately in September 2023 and go through approximately June 2024.
This position is located at the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) and will provide administrative support in the coordination of federal and state grants administation, application, acceptance, budget development and coordination of program/project goals.
The position will assist the Grants Services unit with responsibilities that include research, administration and implementation of grants services notices of intent, application,s working data and proposals for grants services routing, approvals, submissions and grants amangement as requested.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications The individual must be capable and self-motivated to work independently to achieve performance measures.
Good oral, written communication skills, and team skills are necessary.
Students with an interest in the area of grants services are desirable.
Students with experience using a keyboard, computer and interest in preparing research data desirable.
The ability to pay close attention to detail is important to the accuracy of this work.
(To be eligible for appointment as a Student Worker, you must be a student enrolled in an educational program or planning to enroll within three months.
Students may be off for the summer or for one semester/quarter and remain employed as a student worker, but such absences cannot exceed one semester/quarter in a year.
As a student, you must be enrolled in high school or in a post-secondary or graduate program.
If a student is enrolled at a credit-granting institution, they must carry at least six semester (nine quarter) credits.
If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, a student must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter.
Any lesser credit (class) load shall be treated as a semester/quarter off.
Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation.
