Job Summary This position will primarily serve the Foodborne, Waterborne, Vectorborne, and Zoonotic Diseases section of the Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Prevention and Control Division (IDEPC).
As a Communications Specialist, you will plan, organize, create, and assess statewide educational and informational programs and materials for professional groups and the public.
Key responsibilities include developing and coordinating a variety of print and electronic materials, technical aspects of trainings/distance learning, and other partner communications.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Resumes must reflect qualifications to be considered:
Two (2) years of professional experience in health education, health promotion, or communications or public relations role within a public health program.
This experience should include communications planning and writing for a variety of audiences.
Master's degree may substitute for eighteen (18) months of experience; bachelor's degree may substitute for one (1) year of experience; Associate's degree may substitute for six (6) months of experience Qualifications to be assessed at interview:
Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Experience in graphic design Excellent writing skills and verbal communication skills sufficient to communicate clearly with division leadership and staff.
Human relations skills to achieve effective working relationships within the agency and externally.
Preferred Qualifications Experience using Adobe Acrobat Pro, InDesign, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator.
Experience using Adobe Captivate or other eLearning platforms.
Applied knowledge of web design and content preparation for general and professional audiences.
Applied knowledge of communications planning principles, including appropriate messaging and media for a variety of audiences Additional Requirements This position requires successful completion of a background check.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
