About the role:
The Supplier Engineer II evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
Act as liaison between materials and cross functional groups in resolving problems encountered in the supply chain.
This role will focus on a product transfer through project completion to start.
Your responsibilities will include:
Executes plans to support supply chain objectives:
supplied material risk mitigation, supplier performance, and material value improvement projects.
Competent to execute material qualification activities (component qualification, acceptance testing, statistical analysis) and knowledgeable in use of all relevant business tools and concepts (product data management).
Leads small and medium scale projects under guidance from senior engineering staff.
Partners with cross functional team members to qualify and improve supplier processes/performance.
Executes all phases of engineering work with guidance.
Interfaces with suppliers with support from commodity team members to support investigation of supplied material issues or supply constraints.
Addresses all supply constraints.
Supports product complaint investigation where the supplied material is a potential root cause.
Uses basic statistical tools where appropriate.
Takes into consideration the impact of design requirements on the supplier process and overall component cost impact.
Proficiency in report writing, presentation creation, and communication skills is essential.
May need travel to transfer sites (5-10% travel) Required
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree.
Minimum of 2 years of related Engineering experience.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Excellent project management and communication skills.
Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Material Science preferred).
Individual must be self-motivated, and results orientated.
Previous experience in working with suppliers in the medical device industry.
Previous experience with manufacturing mechanical technologies (Injection Molding, Extrusions, chemical and polymer processing).
Recommended Skills Communication Injection Molding Networking Product Data Management Project Management Risk Analysis Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
