Schmidt Service is a 3 bay diesel shop located in Eagan, MN.
We work on both automotive and diesel vehicles.
We are moving toward being a premier diesel performance shop in addition to providing quality maintenance and repairs.
Hours are 8-5:

Initiates services and repairs by ascertaining performance problems and services request; verifying warranty and service contract coverage, creating estimates; writing repair orders; maintaining customer rapport and records.

Responsibilities:
Ascertains vehicles problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems, conducting inspections, taking test drives, checking vehicle maintenance records, examining service schedules.
Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers, explaining provisions and exclusions.
Develops estimates by pricing materials, supplies, and labor; calculating customer's payment, including deductibles.
Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database.
Assist with maintaining shop workflow including parts ordering and cores/ returns Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return date of vehicle; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers, answering questions and concerns.
Maintains automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications.
Skills and
Qualifications:
- Ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience with diesel systems -Equipment maintenance, lifting, problem solving, reporting research results, quality focus, productivity, estimating, product knowledge, customer service skills, safety management -Valid driver's license -Must have general spelling and grammar capabilities -Must have typing and computer skills - we are mainly paperless.
-This position is very detail oriented and requires very strong communication.
