Department Overview Proudly serving as Minnesota's children's hospital since 1924, Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, is the eighth-largest pediatric health care organization in the U.

Each year, Children's provides care through nearly 13,000 inpatient visits and more than 200,000 emergency room and other outpatient visits.
An independent, not-for-profit health care provider, Children's has 319 staffed hospital beds and services available in all major pediatric specialties:
emergency care; newborn and pediatric intensive care; outpatient and inpatient surgery; diagnostic services, including radiology and laboratory; and special programs in the areas of respiratory, cardiology, cancer, premature birth, adolescent development, child abuse, and epilepsy.
In addition to our Minneapolis and St.
Paul Campuses, Children's also includes Children's West, a pediatric care center in Minnetonka offering same-day surgery as well as diagnostic, rehabilitative, and developmental outpatient services; Children's - Roseville, an outpatient pediatric rehabilitation center; and Children's Clinics - Woodwinds, pediatric specialty clinics at the Woodwinds Health Campus in Woodbury.
Position Summary The Mgr Security is responsible for the oversight of maintaining safe and secure Children's campus locations.
The position will directly lead teams of security supervisors, dispatchers, and officers.
Responsible for maintaining the organization's security management program, compliance programs, and security related policies and procedures.
This position will conduct investigations, staff and security training, and manage access control and video monitoring systems for the organization.
The position will partner with key stakeholders to develop and implement safety and security programs.
This position serves the Minneapolis Children's hospital campus, St.
Paul Children's hospital campus, ambulatory clinic locations, and non-clinical Children's locations.
Works collaboratively with contracted services and local law enforcement.
Core role is to promote a safe and secure environment for patients, families, visitors and Children's employees.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's Degree required in a related field (Criminal Justice, Security Management, Security Administration or related field)
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience (private security, public safety, security operations, etc.
) Minimum of 3 years leading people Healthcare knowledge and experience preferred License/Certification/Registration:
Valid state driver's license, without restriction is required

Ability to lead security teams, including providing positive direction, motivating performance, facilitating training, and delivering corrective action Ability to mentor and develop team of diverse security and law enforcement individuals Ability to demonstrate leadership traits of moral courage, intelligence, vision, honesty and integrity Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at various social levels and across diverse cultures Ability to foster an environment that embraces diversity, equity and inclusion for all people Ability to understand the relationship between the hospital system and first responders, and how these systems support each other to provide quality patient care.
