Summary:
Manages a team of Cubic corporate accountants and its subsidiaries. This position also manages the preparation of monthly financial statements for Cubic entities and subsidiaries and works with senior management.This position works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority. Essential Job Duties and
Responsibilities:
Manages the accounting group that performs the general ledger accounting function. Reviews monthly financial statements and supporting schedules. Reviews general ledger account reconciliations. Prepares or reviews account analyses for management and internal/external auditors. Compiles and analyzes financial information. Assists the Manager of Financial Reporting in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports Work with the Global Process Owner for the procure to pay process stream with regards to the payment side of this stream on process improvements Assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the timely availability of accurate financial information to management. Assists in the financial analysis of possible acquisitions, divestitures, major capital expenditures or other specific projects, as required. Provides necessary training and supervision of accounting staff. Ensures departmental compliance with policies and procedures. Maintains or reviews documentation necessary for the audit of Cubic's financial statements and its system of internal accounting controls over financial reporting (Sarbanes Oxley compliance). Provides quality analysis and financial information to operating and corporate management. Prepares other financial reports or analyses, as required. Facilitates Lean principles and creating efficiencies within the department. Minimum Job Requirements:
Four-year college degree in accounting, plus a minimum of ten years related total experience, preferably in a contracting and/or manufacturing environment. CPA certification or MBA preferred. Public accounting experience as well as experience managing an accounting team desired. Demonstrated success in building and managing effective accounting departments and/or working with public accounting teams. Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting requirements. Exposure to foreign currency transactions and consolidations preferred. Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel, management and external auditors. Good oral and written communication skills. Able to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects, and work under deadlines
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
AccountingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
